Thoughts?

So the green was like uber thick and looked weird to me (so much for nicely textured) and I ripped it out, which ended up turning into “I started over”. I like the feel of it better this time without the bulky green in there. So this time around, it looks more or less like this:

There’s three different weights there, but they’re not so drastically different that they don’t line up and lay nicely. The only problem I’m running into is my color choice. How do you feel about this combo?

It’s that blasted light blue. I love it. But after putting in a whole row and then stepping back and looking at it, I feel like it clashes with the golden yellow and maybe I should just stick with the dark blue for now?

Any thoughts? Opinions? I’m all ears. And here’s one more for posterity -

That face is for you, Anna.

  1. I'm scared of that face....

..haha. I'm making worse ones back at you. :) With Molly's help.

You're definitely right - there's something about the blue and yellow that doesn't work together. I'm not sure if it's just the difference between the brown tones in the yellow, or the fact that the blue is just SO bright, but I think you have a couple options....

    1. Skip the bright blue
    2. Skip the yellow
    3. Move the blue so it's not next to the yellow and in the hopes that their discord won't be so jarring...

Since this is such a pretty blanket in the making.... I promise to send you more colors when you run out. It's looking beautiful!

I have a post forming in my head, I just need to shoot the photos. My projects lately have been more sewing based than crochet, but I am still itching to hook again. (hahaha. oh the hooker jokes....)

  2. OK, hooker. I just needed that second pair of eyes to confirm that the yellow + light blue combo was in fact jarring. I'll have to try and get it to fit elsewhere, or else use it for something different altogether. I think this is going to end up being a piecewise kind of blanket with not much continuity and definitely no pattern to be found in the colors. I'll just add more as I get it, so the colors I started with won't be the colors I end with. A friend is going home for Christmas and promised to bring back at least a couple skeins of yarn for me, so that should keep me going for a little bit.

Did you post anything on here yet? Because my dashboard says this blog has four posts and that you are a contributing author, but if I view the blog, I only see the 3 posts I've made...

  4. Oooooh... I see it. Is it alright with you if I switch it so that only authors can view content? Or would you rather it be public?
